Unlike traditional dual-band mesh WiFi systems that sacrifice half of the total wireless bandwidth for backhaul connectivity, ZenWiFi AX features a tri-band design with a full backhaul Wi-Fi band, maximizing system performance and stability. With the upgraded design, you will experience fast and stable WiFi, even when the data transfer is through multiple hubs to reach your device.

Backhaul configuration

ZenWiFi AX allows flexible configuration of the backhaul connection. You can set up the second 5GHz band as a dedicated or non-dedicated backhaul connection, allowing for maximized backhaul speed or freeing up the fastest 5GHz band for connected devices. If you have Ethernet ports in your walls, you can also set up ZenWiFi AX to use Ethernet backhaul and reserve all three WiFi bands for your wireless devices for even more stable and reliable networking.

AiMesh technology

ZenWiFi AX features exclusive AiMesh technology that makes it quick and easy for anyone to set up a whole-home network, while more experienced users have full control over advanced networking features. AiMesh is a flexible and scalable solution that allows you to mix and match different ASUS router models to expand your mesh WiFi system. When you need more coverage or want new functionality, just add another compatible router to your AiMesh network at any time.
